Angelina Jolie: “I’m Going To Be A Better Wife, I’m Going To Cook!” (VIDEO)
Angelina Jolie said on Tuesday’s “Today Show” that she is going to be a “better wife” to Brad Pitt now that they are married. During her interview with Tom Brokaw, Jolie opened up about their recent wedding, being a newlywed, and directing Pitt in the upcoming film By the Sea.
Jolie, who wed Pitt in a private ceremony on August 23 at Chateau Miraval in France, told Brokaw that their relationship does feel different now. “It did change, in just a feeling of that security and comfort that we always had but recommitting after 10 years of being together,” explained Jolie. “We were fortunate enough to be in that unusual situation where got married with our children, and they were part of the ceremony and they wrote some of the vows.”
She added, “So, it was all of us agreeing to be together and to just commit to this life together, not because we had to, not because anything was missing in our lives, but because we were absolutely sure. We felt that much of a family and it was that moment. It was really lovely. It was a lovely day.”
The Oscar winner said she has embraced her role as a wife, and has been trying to improve as a partner. “I think we have more moments where I’ll say, ‘I’m going to be a better wife. I’m going to cook.’ And he says, ‘Oh, honey. Just know what you’re good at. Know what you’re not,'” she explained. “But I do have my, ‘No, no, no! I’m gonna get this wife thing down.’ But he knows my limitations and where I’m a good wife and a good mom.”
Following their wedding, Jolie and Pitt headed to Malta to film By The Sea. She told Brokaw that ten years after she and Pitt collaborated on Mr. and Mrs. Smith, “We’ve learned a lot more about each other, and it’s a film about a very troubled marriage. So, it felt like the appropriate thing to do on our honeymoon.” Check out the video below, and tell us what you think of Jolie’s comments! Note: Video no longer available.
