Mag Just Wrong with Angelina Jolie “Dragon” Mom Nonsense

Chalk it up to desperation.

In Touch Weekly, wrong SO many times about Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, is now so frantic to find signs of trouble… it’s decided to invent some.

First, a quick recap of the stubborn misreporting that’s led to In Touch‘s “creativity”:

Thirteen months ago, the tab claimed Jolie and Pitt were on the verge of breaking up. Wrong.

Last fall the two were reportedly “living separate lives.” Wrong again.

Then Pitt and Jennifer Aniston were supposedly set to “reunite.” We’re still waiting.

Over the holidays, Jolie’s relationship with Pitt’s family allegedly reached the “breaking point.” Nope.

Now it seems In Touch has changed its approach.

The mag decides this week to portray Jolie as an erratic, demanding monster whose staff lives in fear and whose children call her “The Dragon.”

The lengthy cover story touches on a number of issues, but the one that caught Gossip Cop‘s eye is a sidebar alleging that Jolie is, contrary to her image as a caring family woman, actually a hands-off mother who “refuses to deal with [the kids] herself — especially if they’re unruly.”

To illustrate its point, In Touch shows a series of three photos in which Jolie (supposedly) poses uncomfortably with daughter Vivienne on a Venice balcony before handing her to a nanny as soon as the tyke cries.

And if you looked at only the three shots the mag provides — and in the sequence they’re provided — you might reach a similar conclusion.

But we have video.

And the video shows Jolie holding Vivienne through a variety of moods, smiling and laughing frequently, and kissing her head when she pouts. She didn’t run from the balcony and leave her daughter behind as soon as her mood changed, as the tab claims.

Gossip Cop sees no reason to judge Jolie harshly for what looks like a perfectly lovely moment with her daughter.

But we will judge In Touch for the tab’s manipulative use of photographs.

    First… These twins have great genes… :)… (couldn’t help the comment)… They are so lovely cute… :)…

    Second… In touch can’t expect anyone to believe that… seriously, if not for their /sarcasm/ amazingly accurate /ends sarcasm/ record, then for Angelina’s love for kids… She truly loves them… and I don’t believe she uses that for getting press buzz or anything… she surely doesn’t need it…
    For me, she is one of the few that uses ‘fame’, recognition, and the money gotten along, for the sake of others, rather than buying herself useless fancy stuff… I have in my mind a picture I saw once of her with ppl from Africa, when she went there being ONU ambassadress… the look on her face says it all, it’s so heart moving, she was deeply concerned…
    You seriously can’t tell me THAT woman is “The Dragon”… really… it’s like telling people “you’re retarded” straight to their faces…

    Third, In Touch just wants to provoke a reaction… Angie won’t give you that… just give it up already…

    This is the reason I stopped buying and reading rags like InTouch, LifeNStyle, Star, etc because all you pay for is lies and more lies.
    I really am glad I found Gossip Cop, I have told everyone I know about this site! Every time I read something I run and check it out in Gossip Cop! As I yell out to all my chums “if Gossip Cop says it is true…. than it is true”!
    She is one heck of a lovely person! And yes I saw all the pictures and this was taken out of context. I wish them continued love and blessings!

    It’s really disgusting when they make up stories about the celebrities. But when they make up stories about them that include lies dealing with their children that makes them the slime of the earth. It’s pretty obvious Jolie is a loving and caring mother.

    It is obvious that at least one of these pictures was not taken in the same time than the others : the little boy wears a white shirt on the first picture then a black one on the second one. Even Angelina’s dress is different.
    Then how can they state that it is a “brief balcony photo” ?
    How can they create false stories ?
    How can people be stupid enough to believe everything ?
    How can magazines create so much trash and mess around a happy family ?

    I am really getting sick and tired over Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie stories.

    The so-called journalists should leave them and their kids alone.

    Has any of them ever thought of the pain / panic their oldest kids could have by reading all these stories on the Internet or on the cover of magazines ?

    This is just discusting. The only goal there is to make money no matter what is gonna be written, no matter if it is all made up, no matter if it gonna hurt somebody.
    Really really discusting.

    I am sure Angelina is a great, loving and caring mom and the same applies for Brad.

    I just hope that soon they will finally be left alone.
