Angelina Jolie: Why Brad and I Don’t Have to Get Married (VIDEO)

In a new “Nightline” interview, Angelina Jolie talks about why her kids ask whether she and Brad Pitt will get married.

“They see movies… people get married in the movies… the ‘happily ever after,’” explains Jolie, adding, “Shrek and Fiona are married.”

But the actress places higher value on the familial bond she, Pitt and their children share than on the “big cake” she suspects the kids want.

“We’ve explained to them that our commitment when we decided to start a family was the greatest commitment you could possibly have,” says Jolie. “When you have six children… you’re committed.”

    Both Brad and Angelina have been married before and it didn’t work out. They have been together seven years now, longer than any marriage they had with others. Everything is going great, why marry? Like she said, the kids only want a party. Also, these reporters needs to stop asking this ridiculous question.

    I agree with them 100%. I have 2 children with my…I guess people would call him my boyfriend…and I see no reason for us to get married. We made the biggest commitment to each other when we had children together. We love each other and are happy with how things are we don’t need a big cake either.
