Angelina Jolie, Kate Hudson NOT Having Golden Globes ‘Showdown,’ Despite Report
The new cover of Star is actually designed to make readers think such a confrontation has already taken place. The issue will be on newsstands beyond this Sunday’s Golden Globes, and it comes off as if the magazine knows all about their “face-to-face” meeting, and even what Brad Pitt said during the altercation. But there hasn’t been a “showdown,” and there’s not going to be.
Still, it says inside the edition, “The tension’s been building ever since Angelina Jolie got word of her ex Brad Pitt’s red-hot romance with Kate Hudson — and the Hollywood heavyweights may be on the verge of their first-ever face-off.” The accompanying article is all about how “insiders predict there could be a showdown if” — IF — Jolie and Hudson come “face-to-face” at the awards show.
“There’s every chance the real drama won’t be onstage,” a so-called “insider” is quoted as saying. “I’ve heard that Angie is out of her mind with jealousy, and I wouldn’t be surprised if she actually seeks Kate out and angrily confronts her behind the scenes. But Kate is nothing if not feisty, and she could give Angie a real piece of her mind if she’s pushed!”
The supposed source further claims Jolie “wants to march up to Kate at the awards and tell her she should be ashamed of herself for ‘seducing’ Brad.” The publication goes on to repeat allegations from the previous cover story it ran falsely claiming Hudson is pregnant with Pitt’s baby. “I think it’s only pushed Angie even closer to the edge,” says the outlet’s tipster.
And what about the alleged Pitt quote on the cover? It was manufactured to make readers think he told Jolie, “I’ve moved on. Now deal with it.” But in the actual article, it’s revealed it’s merely what the “insider” “think[s] his feeling is.” That deception is indicative of what’s going on with this whole story.
Hudson is not pregnant with Pitt’s baby. They aren’t even dating. So the notion that there will be a “showdown” between her and Jolie at the Golden Globes is absolutely ridiculous. And it’s worth noting that this isn’t the first time the tabloids have run such a false narrative.
Over the years, there’s been similarly untrue stories about Jolie and Jennifer Aniston having a Golden Globes “showdown.” That never happened, of course, and neither will a confrontation between Jolie and Hudson. By the way, check out Star’s 2014 Jolie-Aniston “showdown” cover below. Look familiar?
