CLAIM: Angelina Jolie “Dead-Set” on Starring in Fifty Shades of Grey

Angelina Jolie “would love a role” in the upcoming Fifty Shades of Grey movie, claims The Mirror.

According to the British tab, the Oscar winner became interested in the project after “workers on the set of Maleficent persuaded [her] to pick up E L James’ ‘mummy porn’ novel.”

“Angelina went out and bought herself a copy, thinking she’d love a part in the hot topic on everyone’s lips at the moment,” claims a so-called “source” — in the most made-up language ever.

And since Jolie supposedly “knows the film is bound to be a huge hit,” she’s allegedly “dead-set on a major part.”

The Mirror even touts the idea of the actress scoring the lead role of Anastasia Steele — failing to point out (or realize) that the character is about 15 years younger than Jolie.

Still, the paper insists the movie star is “hell bent on getting a role in the movie.”

Seriously?

NO!

A source close to Jolie, who chooses her film projects very carefully and alternates working with partner Brad Pitt, tells Gossip Cop she’s NOT eying a role in the film.

And, as we reported last week when other outlets tried floating similarly unreliable casting claims, the project is not even close to the casting stage yet.

    These rumors attaching Angelina to this movie are complete bs. What is with the ‘ew’ remarks, she is attractive enough. She has moved past roles like this a long time ago. Yes, she is way too old and not the right fit for the lead anymore. I am personally glad she is steering clear of this film.

    She would make a good Mrs. Robertson. A really good Mrs. Robertson. I could see why they would need a A-list actress if they are going to cast lesser known leads.

    20 years ago she would have been great! The only conceivable role I could see here playing is possibly Ana’s Mom! If she is casted in the lead role (highly doubtful), I just envisioned a zazillion drop in profits….the movie industry is too greedy to make a horrific mistake like this!

    So, what happen? Did the rumor about Angelina directing this crap not get enough press so now they’re saying she wants the part of the innocent girl? Ridiculous! Maybe the Mirror should read the book first . . . or maybe not read it but just pay attention to what is being written about it. I’ve never read the book but even I know Ana is an innocent young girl. This is just another case of random people using Angelina’s name to draw attention to a movie. Move on. There’s nothing to see here.

    FYI…Jolie is still far too young to play role of Mrs. Robinson…Mrs. Iris Robinson was 60 in real life and her lover was 19.
    I don’t think there is any truth to this headline anyway.
    Plenty of young men today would date and have women in their mid to late thirties.

    What? 20 years ago she would have been 15. She can still pass for a twenty something year old though. Her movies sell, no mistake would be made there, but this is not an Angie movie she would pick. She has more reach and talent then to do a mediocre film like this.

    There is no way she should play Anna, maybe “Mrs. Robinson” but not Anna. She looks to old and there is no way she can pull Anna off Angelina is far from an innocent young woman!

    I still can’t believe anyone would make a movie out of that three part piece of ####. The screenwriters will have their work cut out for them trying to give that story a plot. Yikes! And I don’t think Angie would ever consider the role of a horny girl with no personality suffering from teen angst. Not even if she had been the right age.
