Angelina Jolie to Reduce Number of Days Filming in Bosnia
11:17 am, November 17th, 2010
Angelina Jolie will cut back on the Bosnian portion of the shoot for her directorial debut.
Jolie originally intended to shoot for at least 10 days in Sarajevo, but has decided to limit her filming there to only three or four days, her producer Edin Sarkic announced today.
Jolie herself will only be on the set briefly, added Sardic.
The actress-director was initially barred from filming in the country due to protests from an association of women who were raped during the Bosnian War, during which time the movie is set.
Stories had previously circulated that the movie centers on a rape victim falling in love with her rapist. And although Jolie debunked the rumors – and was granted permission to film in Sarajevo – she’s still sensitive to local tensions surrounding her film, and has decided to shoot parts of it in Hungary instead.
Jolie has even expressed a desire to meet with some of the women who had been raped.
