Angelina Jolie British Friends Caused Brad Pitt Divorce?
Are Angelina Jolie’s British friends “driving a wedge” between the actress and estranged husband Brad Pitt? A British tabloid claims the pals are the cause of their divorce. Gossip Cop looked into the allegations.
“‘THE THREE ARE IN CAHOOTS’ British ‘witches’ accused of getting involved in divorce ‘war’ and driving a wedge between Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie,” reads a headline from The Sun. It’s specifically alleged, “Pals say Arminka Helic, 48, and Chloe Dalton, 37 — mockingly referred to as ‘the two witches’ — got between the couple in the marriage’s last year as Angelina’s personal advisers.”
A so-called “long-time member of the couple’s staff” is quoted as saying, “The three are in cahoots together and it’s Brad who loses out. It’s very easy to get caught in Angelina’s web for Chloe and Arminka. Angelina is a seductress of the highest order. I’m sure that they find it intoxicating because when she wants to be Angie is incredibly intoxicating.”
Pitt was supposedly bothered by the blossoming friendships, and it’s claimed that contributed to the Brangelina breakup. “At first he enjoyed having them around. But you could see, especially in the last year, he started to get more and more infuriated with them because they would never be out of the room,” says the alleged staffer.
The purported source goes on, “Every time he went into a room and wanted to speak to Angelina, they’d be there in the background. And he could definitely see the change that was going on where they would constantly advise her.” A second “staff member” even says, “They were always advising her, ‘You should spent more time with us and some time away from Brad.'”
“Initially when they came into Angie’s life it was entirely about the political and her charitable side, and then in this past period of time it took on a whole other life. It became very intense,” says an “employee.” But it strikes Gossip Cop as odd that any staffer would be talking to the newspaper given the confidentiality agreements they likely signed as part of their employment with the Jolie-Pitt family.
Upon investigating the claims, Gossip Cop learned that Jolie is indeed close pals with Helic and Dalton, but not in such a way that has affected divorce proceedings with Pitt. As we’ve already reported, the couple split due to issues that had nothing to do with any third party. Namely, their differing parenting styles and Jolie’s objection to some of Pitt’s behavior is actually what drove a wedge between the stars.
One person Gossip Cop spoke with it deemed it “sad” that Helic and Dalton are being dragged into the divorce battle. “They are quintessentially British and would never presume to involve themselves in her personal decisions,” says our contact, who notes that neither Brit is “overly familiar” with dynamics of American couples or the intricacies the U.S. divorce laws. All that are the reasons why our insider doubts Helic and Dalton have had any undue influence on Jolie in this area.
