Life is not black and white it is many shades of gray. My mother and father were married many years and he never hit her, despite the fact that when they argued she would throw dishes and shoes at him. After 18 years of marriage he found out that she was having an affair with his best friend. My Dad slapped her when she told him. She left and went off with her lover. They eventually married and he proved to be a womanizer and an alcoholic, but honestly, he was sweet to my mother and gave her anything she wanted, which I guess was enough for her. He even had an affair and a son which my mom found out about when the son was a teen. Anyway, my dad had custody and raised us. My mother eventually divorced her second husband and he died. My parents formed a friendship, my dad has never remarried. He has never raised his hand to hit a woman. He is protective of his daughters (us) and has often told us how ashamed he was that he ever hit my mother. My mother also said when she left my father she left her best friend. She had missed him all these years. The point is Rhianna and Chris know more about their relationship than we do. Maybe she felt pressured to leave rather than work it out. They both would have benefited from domestic violence counseling and anger management. There is a possibility that the blow-up was an anomaly for him.
