Brad Pitt Angelina Jolie Divorce Announcement June 2015

(In Touch)

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are NOT getting divorced. The supposed “divorce announcement” blared on the cover of one of this week’s tabloids is completely FAKE.

In what it calls a “shocker,” In Touch claims that “after months of heartbreaking arguments and tension,” Jolie and Pitt have “agree[d] to go their separate ways,” and purports to reveal “how it all went wrong after 10 years.” So, what supposedly happened?

According to a so-called “source” for the magazine, it’s Pitt “who’s calling time on their marriage. He’s told Angie it’s over. He’s beyond miserable and wants out.” The “source” blames Pitt’s unhappiness on Jolie having “control” of the relationship, alleging “he’s come to resent the power he’s allowed her to have over him.”

“The beginning of the end” allegedly started last year, when Jolie directed Pitt in By The Sea, which she also wrote. “She was bossy and demanding and humiliated Brad in front of the cast and crew a number of times,” claims the In Touch source, further saying it “pushed Brad over the edge,” and supposedly “made him think that getting married was a huge mistake — instead of bringing them together, it drove them further apart.”

Of course, production has long since wrapped, and In Touch claims the couple has “been trying to get back to a happier place for months, but it hasn’t worked.” The magazine rattles off a “laundry list of issues,” but says “two particularly ugly blowups” happened on a hotel balcony in Australia, and after Pitt confessed to a hot tub dip with another woman. What In Touch fails to mention is that Gossip Cop busted both those rumors.

The rest of the story is filled with meaningless details, such as how the stars supposedly go “days” without speaking, and how they’ve realized their love isn’t “enough.” In Touch conveniently goes on to allege Jolie and Pitt have “agreed to keep up appearances” through the release of By The Sea this fall. But, announces their supposed tipster, “by the end of the year, they’ll be telling the world it’s all over” with plans to “share custody.”

So, is this like when In Touch said Jolie and Pitt were on the verge of splitting in March? And in February? And literally dozens of other times over the years? Gossip Cop has repeatedly, and accurately, busted countless “divorce” stories from In Touch, and not a single one has proven to be true.

There is no “divorce announcement” coming. Jolie and Pitt will not be breaking up after By The Sea is released, but In Touch will go on to publish such similarly dramatic, yet entirely false tales both before and after. Don’t fall for it.
