Andy Rooney Dead at 92

Andy Rooney, the longtime “60 Minutes” contributor and television news legend, has died.

He was 92.

He’d had complications from recent surgery.

Rooney stepped away from his “60 Minutes” perch last month after more than 30 years of video essays that made him one of the country’s most visible (and beloved) curmudgeons.

“It’s a sad day at ’60 Minutes’ and for everybody here at CBS News,” said CBS News chairman Jeff Fager in a statement about Rooney’s death. “It’s hard to imagine not having Andy around. He loved his life and he lived it on his own terms. We will miss him very much.”

    I was always a fan of his very honest straight talk. We don’t have enough of that anymore. The journalist of today seem to be afraid to piss anybody off. RIP Mr. Rooney, I will miss you.

Thank you & I respect your 92 years of life experience & wisdom that you shared with us in TV Land over the years but who is ever going to fill your shoes, Sir? Good old honest straight talk without all of the sanitized bullshit that we get today…that’s what I liked the most about you, Andy!

    I always liked Andy Rooney up until his finale interview. He was very rude he put himself in the spot light then says if you see me out don’t approach me. He made his living talking about people. Yes I always liked him but seen the real person he was in that finale interview
