Most of us watched him on TV growing up, and had a feeling we knew him personally. Over the years whenever I’m flipping channels and happen upon Mayberry I stop and instantly go back to that time in my life – watching and learning a lesson, with laughter and love. Thank you Andy Griffith, you are a Nation Treasure.

I also watched reruns of the Andy Griffith Show and watched Matlock. He will be missed by all. RIP Andy Griffith!

I loved watching Matlock with my mom. This is a total bummer.

Andy Griffith – One of the most beloved actors from my childhood. My wife and I are having a great time going through the collection of the original “AG Show” episodes through Roku/Netflix.

If someone here hasn’t seen the 1957 film, “A Face in the Crowd,” starring Andy and Patricia Neal, directed by Elia Kazan – you simply have to seek it out. Excellent film, with themes akin to the later “Network.” When you see it, relish in particular Griffith’s fantastic performance in a role a bit like his famous Sheriff Taylor – but with a decidedly dark side. He’ll send shivers up your spine in that role, because he was a very accomplished, effective actor who could do much more than just make you smile.
