Trangender Model Andreja Pejic: Taylor Swift Is “Brave” And “Supportive”
Andreja Pejic says she thinks Taylor Swift was “brave” for inviting her on stage during the singer’s “1989” concert at Soldier Field in Chicago on Sunday. As Gossip Cop reported, the transgender model walked the runway-shaped stage with her pal Damon Baker during Swift’s performance of “Style.”
“She is honestly the sweetest person ever and we clicked really well. It all just felt very natural,” Pejic tells E! News, adding, “Her family was so lovely! They all definitely gave me a level of appreciation that is rare.”
Pejic reveals she only learned she would be hitting the stage with Swift just one day before the concert. But, she says, “Taylor’s energy is infectious and really helped me feel comfortable and allowed me to just have fun up there and let go.” The model goes on to note, “I honestly didn’t expect such a mainstream star of her level to be so welcoming and supportive. I feel like it’s pretty brave and progressive of her and ultimately makes people more accepting of differences.”
“We may not all be born exactly the same but we’re all human and at the end of the day we all want the same basic things out of life,” notes Pejic. As Gossip Cop has reported, virtually every show on Swift’s tour so far has featured appearances from her celebrity friends and notable figures, ranging from Gigi Hadidi and “Orange Is The New Black” star Uzo Aduba to the U.S. women’s soccer team.
