Andi Dorfman & Josh Murray Celebrate Engagement on Final Rose, Runner Up Nick Asks “Why Did You Make Love With Me?”
As Gossip Cop reported earlier, the former professional baseball player proposed to Dorfman on “The Bachelorette” finale, and she happily accepted.
But before publicly reuniting with her fiance for the first time since the final rose ceremony, Dorfman had to deal with runner-up Nick Viall.
Chris Harrison said Nick has continuously tried to see Dorfman because he feels that she has made the wrong decision.
“That day in the Dominican Republic was easily the most painful day of my life. I definitely didn’t see it coming,” Nick recalled of the moment when Dorfman set him free.
He admitted that he is still not over her, and asked Harrison if he could see her before the finale because he thinks “she is playing it safe” with Josh.
Nick flew to see his former flame before the “Men Tell All” taping, but she refused to see him.
He then asked Harrison to give her a letter.
It was revealed that Nick also previously tried to see Dorfman when she was vacationing in Mexico.
The “After the Final Rose” special opened with the jilted contestant, who was waiting to finally see Dorfman face-to-face.
“I feel like she gave me so many reasons to be confident,” he told Harrison of his relationship with the “Bachelorette.”
Nick noted that it would not be “fair” of him to say that Dorfman made the wrong decision, explaining that he spent a lot of time with Josh and that he is a “great guy.”
“I’ll always wonder what could have been,” he said with tears in his eyes.
When Dorfman came out, Nick fumbled with his words as he explained why he wrote the letter he had given to her.
Dorfman said it was “so hard breaking up” with him because she knew he was such a “skeptic” when it came to falling in love. She added that she was “so grateful” that he got to the point of believing in love again because he “deserves to find that great love.”
“I was not in love with him [Nick],” she told Harrison.
Nick responded with the shocking revelation that he and Dorfman had slept together.
“Knowing how in love with you I was, if you weren’t in love with me, I’m not sure why you made love with me,” he said to Dorfman in front of the live studio audience (video below).
The “Bachelorette” told the runner-up that what he said was “below the belt.”
“I think that is something that is private and should be kept private,” she said of their time together.
“You knew how I felt about you,” he continued. “I didn’t have any expectations about that night, but that night was fiance type of stuff. That meant too much to me and I told you that.”
He added, “It meant the world to me, and I have had to play that in my mind over and over.”
Dorfman started to lose her cool when Nick said it was “cavalier” of her to lead him on.
She explained that the entire reason she sent him home early was so he wouldn’t have to go through the process of picking out a ring and proposing before getting his heart broken.
After all of that awkward drama with Nick, Josh came out to greet his fiancee for the first time in public.
The two said that they are excited to be able to go out in public on a date.
The Atlanta natives, who live only five minutes away from each other, have different wedding plans.
Dorfman said she’d like to enjoy being engaged before they started planning a wedding, but Josh wants to get married in the spring.
“The Bachelorette” also joked that she is still not pregnant, although Josh noted that “he’s trying.”
At the end of the episode, Harrison poked fun at Dorfman’s perpetual “frown” by bringing out Grumpy Cat — before congratulating the couple one last time.
