Anatalia Villaranda “The Voice” Knockouts Video: Watch “Two Black Cadillacs” Performance!
Anatalia Villaranda covered Carrie Underwood for her Knockouts performance on “The Voice” on Tuesday. Check out the video below!
As Gossip Cop reported, Villaranda turned all four chairs during her Blind Audition, which aired on the season 12 premiere back in February. She chose to join Alicia Keys’ team, and sailed through the Battles. Now for the third round of the competition, she was up against Dawson Coyle, whom Keys stole from Blake Shelton during the Battles.
The contestants would now sing separately, and could choose their own songs. And suprisingly, Villaranda chose a hit by an “American Idol” winner, opting to perform Underwood’s “Two Black Cadillacs.” Meanwhile, Coyle went with “Demons” by Imagine Dragons. Keys said she paired them due to their mutual young age and pop sensibilities.
While Villaranda considers herself a “soul singer,” she said, “Deep down there’s a little bit of country.” And Coyle thought his new competitor was “intimidating.” Interestingly, Villaranda revealed he’s one of her “best friends” in the competition, with the two teens “going to school together” while sequestered for the reality show. The idea of facing him brought a “wave of nerves.”
After they both performed, Gwen Stefani said Coyle sounded like he was recording an album while Villaranda “ruled” the stage. Adam Levine and Shelton agreed “Demons” is a difficult song, but thought this was the “best” they’ve heard it in the history of the series. The country superstar even admitted regretting letting Coyle go.
But both guys thought Villaranda had the edge. And so did Keys. Villaranda was named the winner and is heading to the Live Playoffs! Watch below!
