Amy Schumer Slams 17-Year-Old Movie Critic For Sex Joke
Amy Schumer responded to an ill-conceived joke made by 17-year-old film critic Jackson Murphy, who posted a Twitter photo of himself and the comedienne at Sunday’s Critics’ Choice Awards, along with a quip insinuating she sleeps around. See the now-deleted tweet below.
Murphy runs a movie review website called Lights Camera Jackson, and he’s also a member of the Broadcast Film Critics Association, which votes on the Critics’ Choice Awards. On Monday, Murphy posted a picture of himself with Schumer at the ceremony, with a tweet that read, “Spent the night with @amyschumer. Certainly not the first guy to write that.”
Not long afterwards, Schumer shot back, “I get it. Cause I’m a whore? Glad I took a photo with you. Hi to your dad.” A remorseful Murphy immediately deleted his tweet following Schumer’s response, writing back to her in a new message, “I truly apologize. Thought you’d like the joke. I should leave the comedy to you! Thanks for the photo. Glad you won last night!”
After the young critic continued to get slammed by various Twitter users, he again expressed, “I truly apologize for the tweet I posted earlier. I’m not a comedian and it wasn’t funny.” Schumer then responded again, explaining she was more disappointed than angry. “That’s really okay honey,” the actress tweeted.” I just remember thinking you and your dad were sweet and it was a bummer to read that.”
As Gossip Cop reported, Schumer won two awards at Sunday’s Critics’ Choice Awards, one for Best Actress in a Comedy for Trainwreck, as well as an MVP Award for her stellar year in film and television. Check out below the since-deleted tweet by Murphy that failed to amuse Schumer.
