Amy Adams Gives Soldier Her First Class Seat On Flight
Amy Adams gave up her first class seat to a soldier on Friday.
The five-time Oscar nominee’s generosity was witnessed and reported by ESPN personality Jemele Hill, who happened to be on the Detroit-to-Los Angeles flight.
Hill tweeted, “Just saw actress Amy Adams do something incredibly classy. She gave her 1st class seat to an American soldier. I’m an even bigger fan now.”
As it happens, Adams was born and raised on military bases.
In an email to the “Today Show” from the flight, Hill explained, “When we were waiting to board, I saw her glance the soldier’s way and then she said something to the person she was traveling with. Once we boarded, I saw she was in first class.”
“I was upgraded to first class and she was a couple rows behind me,” added Hill. “I think she must have said something to the flight attendant, because before we took off she had vacated her seat and the flight attendant brought the soldier to her seat.”
“Ms. Adams did it so quietly and quickly that it speaks to her character,” Hill told ABC News. “And somebody in coach just got a helluva seatmate!”
Another passenger named Ernest Owens tweeted a picture with Adams, writing, “Told @InsideEdition why Amy Adams was classy for giving up her 1st class seat to the soldier sitting next to me! :)” (see below).
