America’s Got Talent Reveals More Semifinalists — See Results Here!
“America’s Got Talent” revealed more semifinalists for season nine on Wednesday’s results show.
As Gossip Cop reported, 12 acts competed in the second quarterfinal round on Tuesday, with Acte II stunning with an operatic version of “I Will Always Love You” to close the show.
Only five, however, could go on to the eventual semifinals, and the other seven acts had to be eliminated — almost entirely based on viewers’ votes.
So, which contestants did America — and the judges — choose to keep in the competition?
– Hand balancer Andrey Moraru
– Singer Jaycob Curlee
– Visual aerialists Aerial Animation
– Magician Mat Franco
– Singer Mara Justine (chosen by the judges)
The final slot came down to Acte II and early favorite Justine, and both gave tearful pleas to stay in the competition.
Heidi Klum and Mel B both picked the 12-year-old singer, and Howard Stern then cast the third vote for her, thereby saving Justine and automatically eliminating Acte II before Howie Mandel could vote.
Also among the surprising cuts was male-on-male salsa duo John and Andrew.
Next week, the quarterfinals continue with even more of the Top 48.
