America’s Got Talent Results Stunner — Favorite Acts Shockingly Eliminated!

RECAP

(NBC)

The “America’s Got Talent” semi-finals kicked off this week with some stellar acts, leading to a stunning results show on Wednesday.

Twelve of the Top 24 competitors gave it their best shot — but only three are moving on to the finals.

So, which competitors did America – and the judges – choose to keep in the competition?

SPOILER ALERT!

- Sand artist Joe Castillo

- “Frontrunner” William Close and the Earth Harp Collective

- Stand-up comedian Tom Cotter

Dog ventriloquist Todd Oliver and Irving initially made the cut as well — only to then be eliminated by the judges in favor of Castillo.

Among the others acts shockingly eliminated were 14-year-old singer Edon, who received a standing ovation on Tuesday, contortionist Turf, goth opera singer Andrew De Leon and mind-reader Eric Dittelman.

Are you surprised by tonight’s results?

I was shocked by The results. Willam Close was the stellar act who moved forward.

  • liz

I am surprised that Edon even made it to the semi-finals. His talent so so average.

  • Jeff

No. Howie has held a grudge against Todd Oliver and Irving since he chose Edon over him in an earlier show. Since America axed Edon, Howie axed Todd O. to save face. Shame on Howie. :(

  • Dennis

Not surprised at all. Todd Oliver and Irving is in no way a million dollar act and shouldn’t have made it as far as they did.

  • tom

Todd Oliver and Irving suck. I hit fast forward every time that they are on. This show really sucks.

I can live without Dittleman, and even Andrew De Leon, but
when the Judges chose sand art over a talking dog that was actually funny, I
threw my drink at the TV. Well, not
really, but I saw myself doing that in my head.
I really like that talking dog, and the material was better than Tom
Cotter. I was talking to my Dish
coworker about it and he was disgusted too.
I was so anxious to watch that I turned on my PrimeTime Anytime
recording and watched it without commercials because I can skip them with Auto
Hop now. That saved me enough time to
watch the show while getting ready for work and still get there on time; an
invaluable way to keep my job!

No, not surprised. It was a tough call. I admit to really wanting to see the mind reader again, but in all honesty, I felt Tuesday night was his weakest performance. IMO, the earth harp guy and the sand artist were absolute MUSTS or I was going to boycott the show. The dog comedian got a few chuckles from me last night, but he hasn’t been consistently funny — the other comedian was much better.

I have to say that I am THRILLED to see no singers going through at all. Not only are the singers this year nothing special, but it drives me nuts every year to see amazing variety acts getting overlooked in favor of acts that should go on American Idol and be done with it.

William Close is going to win. The dog comic…average. Edon avg. Sand painter good but in VegS? And Cattleman needed to use showmanship. A dazzle da,,left act encompassing the whole audience…otherwise he’s a birthday party guy

  • myopinionbob

The editor made my comments nuttier than the acts
Close will win. My apologies to the site.

  • ThePrufessa

    Shameless promotion?

  • Sanjaya

Is this Mr. Stern’s ‘vote for the worst’ karma coming back to haunt him?

  • barb

i’m just glad the guy with the freaky eyes didn’t go through, can’t believe they even brought him back. they’ve already had 2 opera singers win this thing. i just can’t imagine going to a vegas show to hear opera – ugh – i detest opera

  • Buttsewat

The guy with the sand blows. I think my grandma and her friends are rallying their church congregations to vote for that homo. Turf deserved to go through. Oh, and the harp guy is way overrated.
