American Idol Reveals First 5 Men in the Top 20 After Surprising Tie-Breaker Vote

“American Idol” continued to build its Season 12 Top 20 on Thursday, narrowing down the male contestants.

Ten of the Top 20 guys competed in a sudden death round, with five getting eliminated and five getting chosen for the Top 20 overall.

The final five male spots will be filled when the remaining 10 men compete in the second sudden death round next week, after the last 10 women do the same.

    I really wanted to see a list to remind me of who was cut and I’m not that disappointed. I was surprised though that Charlie made it through, but then again, look at who they have to choose from. I work late at DISH a lot on Wednesday and Thursday so I catch up on my Idol later and save time by watching commercial free on my DISH Hopper DVR. I get all of my favorite primetime shows on FOX watched in no time at all so I can fit in another show before I go to bed.

    Once again the judges choose someone because of their sob story rather than because they are talented. Charlie cannot sing at the level of an American Idol top 20! What are these judges thinking — Especially Nikki and Randy! Keith and Mariah seem more grounded and constructive with their criticism — I think Nikki is the worst judge they’ve ever had.
