American Idol Makes More Major Cuts As Top 15 Men Perform Live for First Time

Truth rating: 10

“American Idol” turned the spotlight on the guys on Wednesday’s live episode, picking just 10 of the 15 male contestants to perform for America during “Rush Week.”

Like with the women on Tuesday, the five men not chosen were automatically eliminated from the competition, just after making the Top 30 last week, without ever getting to sing for votes.

Those unfortunate contestants were 16-year-old Jordan Brisbane, Briston Maroney, dad of two Casey Thrasher, Maurice Townsend, and Ethan Harris.

Now the 20 acts (10 female + 10 male) who did perform will be cut down to just 13 on Thursday’s results show, where 10 will survive based on viewers’ votes and three singers will be chosen as wild cards by the judges.
