American Idol Makes Shocking Cuts As Top 15 Women Perform Live on “Rush Week”
The “American Idol” Top 30 abruptly became the Top 25 on Wednesday when the judges made shocking cuts during the season’s first live episode.
After announcing the 15 women who made it to the Top 30 last week, it was expected that all the contestants would get to perform for America during “Rush Week.” Not so fast! In a major twist, only 10 of those 15 women actually got to perform, while five automatically got the boot without ever singing one note on the episode.
So, which women were sent home? Austin Wolfe, Kenzie Hall, Brandy Neely, Andrina Brogden, and former “X Factor” contestant Jillian Jensen all got cut.
And, yes, this means five of the 15 men will be eliminated on Wednesday’s episode, so there will be 20 contestants overall (10 men + 10 women) competing to earn a spot in the Top 13 by Thursday. That 13 will also include three wild cards as chosen by the judges. Whew!
Check out the 10 remaining women below, and tells us what you think of the sudden cuts.
