The website Celeb Jihad, which posted nude photos of Amanda Seyfried on Wednesday, has responded to a letter from the actress’s attorney demanding the outlet take down the hacked pictures or face a lawsuit. Gossip Cop has the exclusive statement below.

As Gossip Cop reported, Seyfried’s private pictures, some of which feature her engaging in sexual acts with ex-boyfriend Justin Long, were leaked online to various social media platforms and message boards. Celeb Jihad, an outlet known for posting both real and photoshopped nude pictures of celebrities, also published the pictures on its site. Shortly after the images were released, the site was sent a cease and desist letter from Seyfried’s lawyer, who acknowledged in the legal document that “several very private photographs of Ms. Seyfried either in various states of nudity or in intimate moments with her former boyfriend have been reproduced and posted.”

The letter continued, “These photographs are believed to have been leaked, i.e., wrongfully obtained by a third party or parties without Ms. Seyfried’s knowledge or consent.” The actress’s attorney further warned the website that it’s “unauthorized use and distribution” of her photos “constitutes, at a minimum, copyright infringement, violation of Ms. Seyfried’s right of privacy under applicable law, and tortious conduct under state and common law.”

Seyfried’s lawyer went on to demand Celeb Jihad “immediately and permanently” take down the nude photos of the actress, insisting that legal action will be taken if the site fails to comply. At the time of this writing, the outlet has yet to remove the explicit pictures of Seyfried. Gossip Cop reached out to the editor of the website, who exclusively told us, “We are reviewing the [legal] letter and will consult the holy Qur’an for guidance.”

As Gossip Cop reported, Celeb Jihad is the same website that posted private nude photos of Lucy Hale last December, but later took down the images after being threatened with a lawsuit.

UPDATE: Celeb Jihad removed the nude photos of Seyfried from its website on Thursday.
