Amanda Bynes Doctors Reportedly Seeking Involuntary Confinement For Up To 1 Year
Amanda Bynes could remain involuntarily hospitalized for up to a year, according to a new report.
As Gossip Cop previously reported, the troubled actress was admitted to a hospital treatment center on Friday night on a 72-hour 5150 psychiatric hold, after weeks of erratic behavior. That hold has since been extended for 14 days.
But doctors will reportedly now seek what is called a permanent LPS hold. That will allow them to confine Bynes and medicate her for up to one year.
The medical team will have to prove to a judge that the actress is “gravely disabled as a result of a mental disorder or impairment by chronic alcoholism.” Bynes’ doctors’ were actually granted this particular kind of conservatorship after her infamous incidents last year.
It led to her extended treatment in a rehab center, but expired last month, says TMZ. The conservatorship that Bynes’ mother had also expired, too.
Gossip Cop will have updates.
