Busting bad dish!

Alyssa Milano tweets about TV coverage of “man-slut” Tiger Woods and his statement

Tiger Reaction

While it’s true Gossip Cop covered Tiger Woods‘ televised statement – so that everyone could read and hear him address his infidelities, what happened that Thanksgiving night, and his future golf plans – it did strike us as odd that on ABC, for example, respected journalists Robin Roberts and George Stephanopoulos offered a recap and an analysis of Woods’ comments.

And while we completely understand why the 24-hour cable networks would cover Woods’ remarks, having network programming interrupted for the golfer’s apology – and a dissection of what he said – seems a little over the top.

We weren’t the only ones who felt Woods’ personal failings did not deserve the type of analysis one would give to a State of the Union address. Alyssa Milano has chimed in as well. The actress tweeted, “Can some1 explain to me how a man-slut gets the same network coverage as our President or a telethon for #Haiti. Anyone?”

Do you agree with Milano… or was it definitely something the networks should have interrupted their programming for? Sound off in the comments sections below.

All I have to say is that she is right!

  • g.cosper

His arrogance is astounding. Like we don’t know, he would not be sorry if he had not been caught. Doesn’t even deserve our attention.

This I agree with. She makes a very good point.

  • Sarah Bethune

I totally agree with her. A total waste of air space.

  • soccermom

You people all read this gossip site, but badmouth the major networks for covering a press conference for a world wide industry in himself. How arrogant of you all! Meanwhile, who is Alyssa Milano? Has she worked lately? At all in the last two decades?

  • Shelbyyyyy

I ask…Really where do people get off Judging Tiger Woods..Let he who has no sin cast the 1st stone…..Please, some people should look in there own closets (Alssya) before they judge others..who died and made you god.He only has to apologise to his wife, we dont pay his rent, so where do peeps get off ”asking” him for an apology…Yes we know he did wrong, So does that mean he has to pay 4 the rest of his life but he will meet his maker 1 day….And only he will judge him….. So let he man and his wife deal with it and eveyone else should move on and leave them in peace…..Try reversing the shoe…….And see how you would feel……Are but for the grace of god……go but i.

  • Shelbyyyyy

lol @ soccermom…You go girl……. Think Alyssa Milan went out with buttoned up shoes lol……….oppps my bad lol

  • hateliars

she was right, I thought it was ridiculous. first, alot were saying he was having a press coverage. To have a press coverage, first you need the press, which were a mile away at another facility and they need to be able to ask questions. neither happened. He looked almost like a zombie reading a statement that was written, not by him, but by his press agent and manager. Then that phoney hug between his mother and him. He still is a controll maniac. First staging that jogging shot. tmz had a shot of the shot. A bunch of people including tiger and the photog in 2 golf carts getting ready for the shot. what a bunch of bs. He will not even let a regular photog get the pic. Then elin jogging, a later pic of tmz shows tiger following in a golf cart. how controlling. what did he expect her to do? flip the photog the bird? flash her boobies? rip off the nike shirt to reveal a rebook shirt? he is still trying to create this fake world. unbelievable. fell for it once, will not believe it again.

  • Shelbyyyyy

    lol @ g.cosper….well he got yours lol….didnt he ;) <<<wink

  • Shelbyyyyy

lol@ hateliars……WOW what did he actually do to you to have you so pissed off………Some might say……..”Man in the mirror”……. ;)……. maybe you saw something in tiger that reminded you of yourself Eh!……. maybe……We all have ”YETS” in life, thats why its better NOT to judge ;)

  • MyKinKStar

Whatever Tiger did wasn’t right, BUT it’s between him, his wife, and their vows. Plus I guess their lawyers now too. He doesn’t owe ANY of us anything. It’s NEVER been our business! .

None of it has any effect on my life, changes my opinion or my expectations of Tiger as a person, since I don’t know him personally. I believe in being faithful to those I love and always have been, so his actions and/or him getting caught teaches me no lesson. It might serve as an example to others living that kind of life of what not to do, but then again, I doubt it because of the level of arrogance involved for someone to behave that way or to that extreme.

Tiger having a ‘press conference’ to apologize (without taking questions), with close friends and family in the room, seemed like a necessity, but it was odd. Honestly, he only did it because the damned press wouldn’t just let it GO and the man wants to move on – to heal and get back to living. All the continuous speculation and jokes were BORING from the start, and considering it’s not just been the cable talking heads yukking it up endlessly, but also the networks, it’s pretty unprofessional.

Okay and here’s the kicker about today: A couple of the females Tiger was ‘involved with’ have spoken to the press (again) and are ‘disappointed’ that Tiger didn’t mention them and say he’s sorry to them too! PLEASE! Now, that’s really ridiculous. BUT who’s decision is it to keep giving these tramps airtime?

What the hell is going on with this country? WHY is it more important to highlight ‘celebrity’ bullshit, and not the crap our government is doing to US?

  • JoeJonasGirl0676

I agree with Alyssa Milano totally, but I don’t agree with her calling him a man slut EVEN though he cheated on his wife with more women than I have fingers and toes. But, I do agree with her. She could have left the phrase man slut out though.

    Plus Alyssa rocks. :D

  • regina1180

There’s a difference between reading gossip sites/magazines (where this story belongs) and supposedly “respected” news outlets covering it like it was an important issue. Do I agree with what he did? Of course not. My husband is actually a HUGE Tiger fan and he didn’t feel like this public apology was necessary.

  • Shelbyyyyy

Totally agree with Regina 1180…….There was NO need for an public apology…….Now lets all move on……. :-)

  • Chloe

I actually agree with Shelbyyyyy, regina1180 , and MyKinKStar really nailed it regarding Tiger. Who am I to judge or care as long as his wife is find with it then we should be too. Not to mention what “MyKinKStar ” said about the “HO’S” wanting attention and air time and having the nerve to complain that Tiger did not mention them personally…ARE YOU KIDDING ME….WHY ARE THE NETWORKS GIVING THEM AN EXTRA 15 MINS? GO AWAY ALREADY AND BACK TO YOUR STREET WALKING WAYS.

  • Facebook User

I agree with her completely. It’s not like he’s Bill Clinton…. Enough, already!

  • Kelly Flores

To all of those saying “who are we to judge?” …. and “its none of our business” aren’t you being a little hypocritical? I mean you are on a GOSSIP website that is all up in the business of celebrities, and why would you read this unless you have the intent of being in a celebs business or judging them in some kind of way?? That’s what I thought.

Fact. When you are famous, and as well known as Tiger Woods, you KNOW that you are in the public eye… and that your business is always in the public eye. It’s a consequence that comes along with fame. And when you know that you have people watching you, and looking up to you, and YOU screw up, you should expect to deal with the publicity that comes from it all. Its a HARSH reality people, but it’s REALITY none the less. I don’t feel sorry for Tiger AT ALL. I feel sorry for his WIFE & CHILDREN because those are the ones in this situation who are truly suffering.

He doesn’t owe anyone an apology but them!.. Those are the people who are hurting the most, I could only imagine how his wife is feeling and what she is going through right now. Granted he let down his fans but he doesn’t owe them an apology (in my opinion). And I don’t think it should of gotten the air time that it did, it shouldn’t of interrupted regular programming or anything. He’s not the friggin president.

Hopefully his words were sincere in him regretting his ACTIONS rather than regretting getting CAUGHT, for his FAMILY’S sake.

  • Shelbyyyyy

lol @ Kelly Flores…….you should put brain into action before putting mouth into gear lol…… ” hypocritial”…….Arnt you lol….. sprouting at the mouth and YOU have done the same thing OMG some peeps……And where the hell did you think you were when you were doing this lol………Fantacy Island lol…….Grow up, and dont be so critical of others yourself……….

  • Mimi

First off I don’t like gossip, and the only reason why I am here is because of two things. Although (as much as I do like her) I don’t think its necessary for Alyssa Milano to call Tiger Woods a Man-Slut, on the other hand she does have a valid point. #1 Just to get it out of the way, Tiger Woods’ situation is really nobody’s business of what is going on in his personal life. Everyone thinks because the man is a golf pro, and you never heard anything bad about him, people thought he was automatically perfect, well nobody is perfect. We’ve established that, and he should not make an apology to no one but for himself and his family. #2 Alyssa does have a point that there are more important things going in the world besides Tiger’s personal problems, as far as President Obama trying to do his best with the health care problems and the employment holes that we are in desperate need for, as well as Haiti whom needs help and not last but not least her friend Andrew Koenig who had been missing all of that time and has turned up dead since news broke yesterday. I still like him, but I too am tired of hearing about Tiger’s infidelities and jokes about him EVERY TIME you turn around. It’s gotten old, and hollywood needs to grow up. He’s not the first or last celebrity to fuck up in past, present, or future, and it doesn’t make him an all around bad guy. He may be a public figure, but that doesn’t mean he is not entitled to his privacy like everyone else. And with that said, I am done with this subject for good. Also, Rest In Peace Andrew (Boner) Koenig

Mimi…..couldnt put it better myself…….great job girl (y)…..Rest In Peace Boner.
