Mario Lopez: All-Star Edition of Dancing with the Stars Is In The Works

On Wednesday’s “Live! With Kelly,” Mario Lopez revealed to Kelly Ripa that an All-Star edition of “Dancing with the Stars” could be on its way.

During a discussion of the competition show (which eliminated Gladys Knight on Tuesday), Season 3 runner-up Lopez remarked, ”You know what, Kelly? They’re doing a ‘Dancing with the Stars: All-Stars’ this next season. They called me to do it.”

Wow!

So does this mean that some favorite contestants from seasons past could be back on the dance floor next fall?

Maybe.

A source connected to “Dancing with the Stars” tells Gossip Cop that Lopez’s statement was “premature,” but doesn’t rule out the possibility of an All-Star Edition.

    I haven’t seen many of the past seasons, only a few of the recent ones. But I love Kirstie Alley, so it’d be cool for her to come back even though it was so recent and I’d doubt she’d do it.

    How is “the cat out of the bag” when this has been rumored to happen for season 15 for the last 2-3 seasons? Check fans on abc.com and twitter because it’s always been mentioned. He’s not the first to bring it up. he just did on a popular morning show and confirmed he was asked (which regular dwts fans knew he was going to be).

    Just ‘coz everyone forgot him from way back in Season 1, I’ll mention Joey McIntyre. He deserves a second shot. Also, it would be good to bring back Sabrina Bryant, Gilles Marini, Joey Fatone, Stacy Keibler, Mel B & Adam Carolla.

    Regardless of what some people say Bristol Palin was able to do quite an accomplishment
    and coming from a non-dancer to a beautiful dancer was incredible. To me that is what
    this competition should be all about. I hope they will bring Bristol back. It would
    definitely increase their ratings. Her and Mark’s hard work is deserving of another try
    and I believe with the experience she has from season 11 I would love to see would
    she could do this time around.
