Alfonso Ribeiro and Witney Carson celebrated their “Dancing With the Stars” win with the show’s other finalists on Wednesday’s “Good Morning America.” Ribeiro proudly sat next to his Mirror Ball Trophy when he revealed that he had spent 10 years trying to get onto the dance competition show.

“I watched the first season when John O’Hurley and Kelly Monaco did it, and loved the show right from the beginning and thought it was great,” explained Ribeiro. “So every season I kept telling the producers, ‘Hey, I’d love to do the show. I’d love to be on it. Seriously, I know I’ve said it the last seven years, but no seriously, I want to be on the show,’ and then finally.” GMA anchor George Stephanopoulos joked that because Ribeiro’s partner was the youngest dance pro this season he “had to wait till Witney was old enough.” Ribeiro added, “They had their eye on her then, and they are like, ‘You will have to wait till she is at least 20.'”

Ribeiro also received a heartfelt videotaped message from his “Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” co-star Tatyana Ali. “Alf, I love you so much,” she told him. “You mean the world to me ,and I am so glad that everybody gets to see you shine.” Later in the show, the actor found himself doing his famous “Carleton” dance one last time.

Ribeiro and Carson were joined by runners-up Sadie Robertson and Mark Ballas, Janel Parrish and Val Chmerkovskiy, and Bethany Mota and Derek Hough. All four couples reflected on their time on the show before performing a dance. And while Parrish and Chmerkovskiy remained coy about their relationship, the dance pro kissed his partner on her forehead twice during their performance.
