Alexander Skarsgard Attends “Diary Of A Teenage Girl” Premiere In Drag (PHOTOS)
Alexander Skarsgard showed up to the San Francisco premiere of his new film The Diary of a Teenage Girl dressed in drag. The 6-foot-4 actor, who wore a giant blonde wig, long gold dress, and plenty of makeup, does not play a drag queen in the film, which made his appearance on the movie’s red carpet even more striking. See the photos below of Skarsgard in drag.
In the film, Skarsgard plays a guy named Monroe, who’s dating a woman named Chloe (played by Kristen Wiig), and then embarks on a taboo relationship with her 15-year-old daughter, played by Bel Powley. There is a transvestite in the film, played by Joshua Grannell (a popular drag performer in the San Francisco bay area), but it’s still unclear why Skarsgard would have crossdressed. Gossip Cop has reached out to his rep for an explanation.
Dressing up in women’s clothing is, however nothing new to Skarsgard, who played a crossdresser in the Swedish movie Kill Your Darlings. The Diary of a Teenage Girl, set in the 1970s, opens in a limited release on Friday.
