Alex Cross Trailer Starring Tyler Perry

Tyler Perry stars as the title character in Alex Cross, ditching his Madea wig for a detective’s badge.

In the movie, Cross battles a serial killer played by Matthew Fox.

It’s based on the series of James Patterson thrillers featuring Cross, who was played in earlier films by Morgan Freeman.

Alex Cross opens in October.

    Sorry I can’t get past it being Tyler Perry. I keep expecting him to come out as Medea. Plus, no one can take over for Morgan Freeman. It’s like doing a remake of the Scarface and casting Adam Sandler as Tony Montana. Okay maybe not that dramatic, but you get my drift.

    I prefer Morgan Freeman. I even cast him in the role when I’m reading the Alex Cross books. Maybe Mr Perry will surprise me. I certainly like his work in the comedy genre.

    At least he’s close to Alex cross’s age. IN the books Patterson makes a big deal about him looking like ali in his prime. I don’t know how they got Morgan freeman out of that.

    This trailer doesn’t look half as bad as I thought it would when I first heard that Perry was going to play Alex Cross. In fact, I think it looks like a pretty good movie. I love him and Morgan Freeman was good in the two movies he did but he was always too old for the part.

    I have read all of the Alex Cross books. I cannot wait for the movie. Tyler Perry as Dr. Cross, I don’t know, have to wait and see. I would have chosen Chris Tucker.

    Big Alex Cross novel fan. Liked Morgan Freeman even though he was older than the character in the book, but Tyler Perry??? REALLY??? Just not buying it. There are so many good black actors that would be more believable in this part. A couple that come to mind are Terrance Howard and Steve Harris – about the same age. I can see Perry as John Sampson but not Cross.

    Seeing him do pull-ups, makes me believe he can pull it off. I can’t wait for the film to come out.
