Photographer Files Police Report Against Alec Baldwin

The New York Daily News photographer with whom Alec Baldwin had a violent confrontation on Tuesday morning has just filed a police report.

According to the paper, Marcus Santos filed an assault complaint with the New York Police Department.

As Gossip Cop previously reported, the actor was leaving the city’s marriage license bureau with fiancée Hilaria Thomas when Baldwin spotted Santos and other photogs outside the building.

According to Santos, Baldwin demanded the shutterbugs back up before shoving Santos and punching him in the chin.

Baldwin’s camp denies the actor punched Santos.

The NYPD is currently investigating the incident.

    Baldwin knew they would be there, he probably told them what time he would be there. IMO he set the whole thing up to get publicity for his new film and it worked. Santos probably won’t accomplish anything with his complaint but I bet he gets a paycheck from Baldwin for his part in this.

    Unfortunately the 1st Amendment protects the papparazzi rights at the expense of the celebrities. Unlike some celebs, Alec Baldwin neither needs nor courts this kind of publicity. The press knows he has a short fuse and they bait him to get a reaction. He should know better, but he almosty always gives them what they want. Live and learn, Alex…

    The first Amendment does give some people the right to do their own thing but its insane for these idiots to bait people, to harrass people and to take pictures of them 24/7 and sell the pictures for lots of money at a pop and then more…I think they need to be licensed and need to report their salaries to IRS along with the “rags” that buy them…This is abuse and I can’t believe that something hasn’t been done to them by now…WE would all be socking these idiots if they were in our face every time they saw us…This needs to be investigated and ended now…Anyone with a cellphone or a camera can invade ones privacy be it home or the streets and make a small fortune…I don’t blame the celebrities at all and yes some pictures come with the territory but enough is enough.

    Good luck with that, Mr. Santos. Even if it were to get to trial, which it won’t, you’d lose. Better ask for a judge trial, instead of a jury trial. People freakin’ HATE paps.
