Alec Baldwin Not Running for Governor of Ohio

In a piece titled “Alec Baldwin Considers Running for Governor of Ohio,” the blog Celebitchy manages the rare feat of both “reading Playboy for the articles” – and not understanding them. The site quotes Baldwin stating in the July issue of the magazine that a law firm in Ohio sent him materials requesting him to consider a bid for the governorship. At no point did Baldwin suggest that he solicited the gubernatorial invitation or that he would even move to Ohio.
Baldwin, however, said: “I have sometimes thought I could move to New Jersey or Connecticut and run. . . . But it’s all fantasy. I’m a carry-me-out-in-a-box New Yorker.”
But if drafting him for an unwanted out-of-state governorship wasn’t ridiculous enough, the site illustrated their story with a photo of… ? Good question. But it definitely isn’t Baldwin.
