Alec Baldwin NOT “Done” With Donald Trump Impression, Despite Report
Alec Baldwin is not “done” with his Donald Trump impression, despite a report falsely claiming he plans to stop impersonating the president. Gossip Cop can exclusively correct the story, which comes from one of the tabloids.
The allegation can be found in the current issue of the National Enquirer, which wrongly announces in a headline, “Alec’s Done Doing Donald!” According to the article, Baldwin is suffering from “boredom.” A so-called “source” is quoted as saying, “Alec had fun doing ‘SNL,’ but now he is over playing Trump every week.”
“He doesn’t want to do the show every Saturday for the next four or eight years,” continues the alleged snitch. “He’ll host the show on Feb. 11, and then he wants to take a break. Now they’re looking for someone else to play the president.”
But this piece, as the National Enquirer all too often does, is distorting the truth. Baldwin never intended to portray Trump “every Saturday,” and “Saturday Night Live” producers never expected that. While it’s possible the show could start featuring an alternate “Trump,” the notion that Baldwin plans to quit the impersonation for good is “incorrect,” we’re exclusively told.
And it’s worth noting that this article about the actor supposedly giving up the shtick comes less than two months after the supermarket tabloid outrageously claimed Baldwin was doing the impression to get revenge on Trump. In that story, which the outlet is now contradicting, it was said a “jealous” Baldwin was committed to “bashing the president-elect at every turn.” But the widely discredited publication didn’t have accurate insight into the star in December, and still doesn’t now in February.
