3:46 pm, August 23rd, 2011
Al Sharpton will host “PoliticsNation,” a new weekday show on MSNBC.
It debuts at 6:00 p.m. ET next Monday, August 29.
According to a release, Sharpton “will lead a lively and informed discussion of the top headlines, bringing viewers his take on events in his signature style.”
“I am very happy and honored to join the MSNBC team as we collectively try to get America to ‘Lean Forward,’” said Sharpton, referring to the outlet’s slogan.
He added, “It is a natural extension of my life work and growth. We all learn from our pain and stand up from our stumbling and one must either learn to lean forward or fall backwards. I’m glad they have given me the opportunity to continue my forward lean.”
The minister/activist has been guest hosting on the network in recent weeks.
“PoliticsNation” will occupy the slot previously anchored by Cenk Uygur.
