After the Eclipse: Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart

With “New Moon” coming to theaters in less than two weeks, a lot of outlets are paying closer attention to what lies ahead for its stars Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart.

First, Gossip Cop spoke with insiders at Summit Entertainment and can confirm that Pattinson’s next film, “Remember Me,” has been pushed back to a March 12 release. Originally the pic had been set to bow in February.

Next is a new batch of rumors, courtesy of Famous magazine, claiming Stewart will not be back as Bella Swan for the potential “Breaking Dawn” film in the “Twilight” series. How badly does Famous want fans to panic? The article’s headline blares, “Kristen: ‘I’m Quitting Twilight!’”

Wow… so what led to the mag’s scoop?

Um, nothing.

Mashing up old quotes, fact-deficient speculation, and good old-fashioned presumption, Famous prints absolutely nothing new or substantive to back up its claim. The mag includes Stewart’s recent comments about not wanting “to be a movie star like Angelina Jolie” and her decision not to attend the Vancouver wrap party for “Eclipse” as indications she’s only recently somewhat uncomfortable with the spotlight (wow, what a shocker!).

According to the tab, Stewart has told “pals” she wants to leave the franchise (uh huh)… and yet the piece also makes sure to quote sources close to the actress as saying, “She’s considered leaving before but has always changed her mind and stayed… [she's] very torn… the last thing she wants to do is appear ungrateful.”

Famous then covers itself even further, asserting, “However unlikely it is that she’ll quit, given her contractual obligations, producers are doing everything in their power to keep Kristen with the franchise.” And the anticlimax closes with a “mutual friend” confiding that Pattinson himself will help keep Stewart on board, as “she has considered quitting but Rob’s been instrumental in helping her stay committed – they both know what a truly wonderful opportunity they’ve been given.”

[Staring at article]

Are we missing something?

The mag’s cover screams, “Kristen: ‘I’m Quitting Twilight.’” The piece’s headline screams, “Kristen: ‘I’m Quitting Twilight.’”

But she never said anything of the sort. And Famous knows it, which is why it spends the second half of its article admitting Stewart’s not actually going to leave.

Good news for fans, bad “news” for so-called “news sources.” Which is why Gossip Cop busts ‘em.

The German “InTouch” Magazine was reporting pretty much the same thing – Kristen Stewart quitting Twilight, just like Robert Pattinson. Though it said something about drugs, alcohol, and other scandals being the reason.

It’s strange how magazines tend to twist the truth in order to get more buyers. What they don’t realize is that A LOT more people would actually buy the magazines if they could get news from them, rather than just sick fan fictions.

    Quote: “[Staring at article]“… LMAO!!!! I know… it’s like… Am I reading Si-Fi?

mmmmm… Who hasn’t have one of those “I wanna throw everything away” moment when it comes to work?… If she has felt like that… hey, she’s human… but I highly doubt she really wants to quit… I mean… she and all the cast has said that they feel good working together… not to even mention the huge amount of money they’re getting… and last time I checked her on and interview she said she was lucky about having this opportunity…
I know there are down sides to something as huge as Twilight… but friends, family, and people you work with are the ones who keep you grounded… ;)
Me thinks Kristen is doing SO well, and she’ll keep doing it… I don’t think she’d say anything like that while promoting New Moon, for once… and neither think she will be quitting… but if she anytime decides to quit… hey! if that makes her happy, I will support her… It’d be kind of weird to see the change, but… it’s her life, she decides what she does and what she doesn’t…

BTW, I HATE when tabloids put headlines pretending quoting someone’s words… isn’t that illegal? In The States, I mean… I know in my country it is illegal, there’s why ppl is very cautions about what they say here… lol

    Thanks muchly GC! :D
    *thumbs up*

Then these trashy tabloids wonder why Kristen and the rest of the cast limit who they give interviews to. What a disgrace. Stay strong Kristen, your real fans know the truth!

Since they have KS quitting, I wonder who they’re going to say is replacing her. ::rolleyes::

How did you “bust ‘em”? Usually you would have a quote from the publicist or something when you put the kabosh on these stories, but your only quote in this post is from Summit regarding Remember Me.
She’s very likely not quitting and that magazine fabricated the whole thing, but you really didn’t prove anything here.
