Adele Wedding Story NOT True
Adele is not in the midst of planning her “dream wedding,” despite a tabloid cover story. Gossip Cop can help set the record straight.
The current cover of OK! makes it seem like Adele has married boyfriend Simon Konecki. But it’s actually a bait-and-switch. Inside the magazine, the article is about the superstar supposedly wanting to get married.
“After five happy years together, Adele and her partner, Simon Konecki, are finally planning to tie the knot,” it’s said. The outlet makes reference to the singer saying at a July concert that Konecki hadn’t proposed yet, and then claims that now her “friends are buzzing that Simon popped the question just over a month later, in mid-August!” Conveniently, it’s said Adele is purposefully not wearing her engagement ring until after they wed this Christmas.
A so-called “source” explains, “She wants to keep any engagement news under wraps. She would never want gate-crashers at her wedding.” That’s quite the excuse for the publication, which goes on to write, “Secrecy is key, especially because they’re said to be planning a very laid-back event; rather than renting out a private island, as some stars have done, the buzz is that they’ll be saying their ‘I do’s’ surrounded by their closest friends and family at a pub in England!”
But that’s just some more creative writing from OK!. While Adele’s rep refused to comment when Gossip Cop inquired about the cover story’s wedding claims, the British star herself is now making it clear she doesn’t intend to marry. It’s said in her new Vanity Fair cover story, which came out on Monday, “She adds that she and Simon are not married, and she doesn’t need it; she thinks having a child together is the bigger commitment.”
There you have it. OK!’s reporting (and we use that term loosely) is once again not okay.
