Adele Visits Terminally Ill 12-Year-Old Girl At Her Home (PHOTOS)
Adele visited a terminally ill 12-year-old girl named Rebecca Gibney, who’s blind and has cerebral palsy, at her home in Belfast, Northern Ireland, on Tuesday. Following the opening night of her world tour, the singer made the surprise trip to see her young fan, who was given just six months to live by doctors in December. See the photos below.
The girl’s mother, Tracy, recently launched a Facebook campaign explaining that her daughter “can’t walk or talk,” and is “tube-fed and bed-bound.” She added, “She listens to Adele from when she gets up in the morning until her bedtime… All I am asking for is for Adele to FaceTime wee Rebecca or send her a video message.” But the singer did more than that on Tuesday when she sat by the girl’s bedside and talked to her.
“My daughter got to meet the person that she loved, and that’s what I’ll always take with me for the rest of my life,” Tracy told the Belfast Telegraph. “Adele played with her hair and held her hand… She was really lovely.” Tracy also noted to the BBC that Adele’s visit was an “amazing” experience that she’ll “never forget,” adding, “I do know that when Rebecca passes away, she did get her dream come true.” See the touching photos below of Adele visiting the sick girl’s bedside.
