Adele Refused To Sing One Song For $10,000?
Did Adele refuse a man’s $10,000 offer to sing one song at a bar? That’s the claim in one of this week’s new tabloids. Gossip Cop has the truth!
According to the National Enquirer, the singer was hanging out at a swanky bar in West Hollywood when a fellow patron approached her table with a proposition. A so-called “source” tells the magazine that the man said to Adele, “I’ll pay you $10,000 bucks in cash if you’ll walk over to the piano and sing just one song!”
The outlet’s dubious insider adds, in very unnatural language, “Adele just scoffed at the show-off schmuck, so Mr. Moneybags instantly upped the ante, barking, ‘Name your price!’ I’ll have the cash brought over in a briefcase within 15 minutes.'” The seemingly phony insider goes on to purport that the singer shot back, “I don’t think so! You’re making me feel like a prossie,” which is British slang for “prostitute.”
Despite how phony this story sounds, Gossip Cop still checked in with a source close to the situation, who exclusively assures us this tall tale simply “never happened.” Unfortunately, Gossip Cop has called out the Enquirer for publishing numerous false stories about the singer, so this latest one comes as no surprise.
We previously busted the tabloid for wrongly reporting that Adele cleaned her own dishes at a Chinese restaurant because the busboys never wiped down her table. And in addition that nonsense, Gossip Cop corrected the publication’s bogus claim that Adele was asked to pose nude in Playboy. This latest story about the singer is equally untrue.
