Its video, which stars Adele and Tristan Wilds, also toppled the Vevo record held by Taylor Swift’s “Bad Blood” for the most views in 24 hours. Adele’s “Hello” was viewed 27.7 mllion times in just one day.
Shortly before releasing 25, Adele wrote on Facebook and Twitter that her last album 21, which was released in 2011 was “a break-up record and if I had to label this one I would call it a make-up record.” She added that the songs on the new album are about “making up with myself. Making up for lost time. Making up for everything I ever did and never did.”
