Adele will perform at the Academy Awards, it was announced on Wednesday.

The British superstar — who is nominated for Original Song — will take to the Oscar stage to sing “Skyfall,” the theme to the latest James Bond movie.

It will mark Adele’s first U.S. TV performance since last year’s Grammys, and her first live performance of “Skyfall.”

“It’s an honor to be nominated and terrifyingly wonderful to be singing in front of people who have captured my imagination over and over again,” Adele said, adding, “It’s something I’ve never experienced and probably only ever will once!”

Adele took home the Golden Globe for Original Song earlier this month.

The Oscars will air live on ABC on February 24.

I like Adele but man is she overrated. This song was a complete snoozefest. I remember the day it was released i couldnt wait to hear it and then it was like OMG thats it? Most Bond songs are absolutely amazing and this one really missed the mark. Had anyone else recorded it no one would give a crap and it would not be nominated for an Oscar.

i don’t think she wrote the song, i think she just sang the vocals. If that is the case you can’t blame the song for being a bit bland, her vocals were very good.

I’m looking forward to seeing Adele, one of my favorite artists perform Skyfall on the Oscars. I won’t be able to watch it live because I’ll be at work at DISH. My roommates and I will be able to record up to six programs at once on our DISH Hopper, during primetime. This will prevent any household arguments on what to watch and what to record.
