Adele And Matthew McConaughey Make “Hello” Joke In “SNL” Promo (VIDEO)
Adele will be the musical guest as McConaughey hosts “SNL” this weekend. Earlier this week, he starred in a series of funny promos with Kate McKinnon. On Friday, a new batch was released with Adele and Cecily strong.
In a very obvious nod to the superstar singer’s new hit song, a phone rings as the trio are plugging the show. Each digs into his or her pockets, before McConaughey realizes it’s his flip phone that’s ringing. “Hello?” he asks.
“Oh, it’s for you,” he says, passing the phone to Adele. Cue her own “Hello?” Meanwhile, Strong whines, “It’s always for Adele.”
As virtually anyone with an Internet connection knows, the web was flooded with “Hello” jokes and memes after Adele released the song last month. There’s also been some great mash-ups with Lionel Richie’s own “Hello.”
Adele is sure to perform the song on “SNL” this Saturday, but it remains to be seen what track she’ll use for her second performance. Her highly-anticipated new album, 25, just came out at midnight Friday, and has been dominating Twitter in the hours since. Check out the new “SNL” promos below!
