American Idol Double Elimination + Top 9 Revealed — SEE FULL RESULTS!
“American Idol” had its biggest elimination of the season 14 live episodes thus far on Wednesday, when not one, but two contestants were sent home. Get all the results and see the full Top 9 list here!
As Gossip Cop reported, the Top 10 was expected to be revealed during last week’s combined performance and results show. But in the final seconds of the episode, the judges decided to use their one lone save of the season on Qaasim Middleton. Everyone seemed ecstatic, but now, one week later, reality set in. Middleton getting saved last week meant a double elimination this week.
Per the new format, host Ryan Seacrest revealed who was safe one by one, all based on the votes cast after last week’s broadcast. Upon finding out he or she was safe, the contestant took the stage to perform again in hopes of earning votes to survive NEXT week’s elimination. But the two names who were NOT declared safe and called to perform were the ones who had the lowest amount of votes. And that meant they were getting the boot.
First, however, it was revealed that the Bottom Three was Adanna Duru, Maddie Walker, and Rayvon Owen. So, who was eliminated? Duru and Walker. That leaves a Top 9 consisting of: Daniel Seavey, Quentin Alexander, Joey Cook, Tyanna Jones, Jax, Nick Fradiani, Clark Beckham, Middleton, and Owen. The votes cast tonight will lead to the Top 8 results next week.
