Adam Levine performed “Locked Away” with R. City on “The Voice” on Tuesday. Watch below!

“Locked Away” was released in June off of R. City’s debut album, What Dreams Are Made Of. That record actually just dropped in October, but the duo — brothers Theron and Timothy Thomas, also known as Rock City — previously put out more than a dozen mix tapes and wrote for top artists like Justin Bieber, Beyonce, Miley Cyrus, Rihanna, and Nicki Minaj.

Interestingly, though Levine typically co-writes his music, he only contributed vocals to “Locked Away.” He also doesn’t appear in the song’s music video. The track has had great success, though, reaching number one on the Billboard Mainstream Top 40 chart.

“The Voice” performance also served as a taste of what’s to come. R. City will be the opening act during select dates on Maroon 5’s fall 2016 tour. That, of course, is still a long ways from now. In the more immediate future, Levine will finish out season 9 of “The Voice” with frontrunner Jordan Smith on his team.

He’ll then return next year for season 10, which actually already began filming. Levine is a two-time coach winner, and has been looking for his third victory since 2013. Check out video of the “Locked Away” performance below!
