Adam Levine Slams Christina Aguilera’s Body Bullies: “F**k You… Grow Up!”

Adam Levine blasted Christina Aguilera’s haters during a press Q&A session on Friday, defending his colleague on “The Voice” and slamming persistent rumors that they feud behind the scenes.

The Maroon 5 singer was asked about tabloid tales of bad blood between him and Aguilera (which Gossip Cop debunked from the very beginning).

“The fights that everyone thought we were having were fictional,” said Levine. “We never hated each other. We never were having some sort of secret battles that everyone thought we were having.”

He explained, “There were silly bickering things like a brother and sister would do… it’s not nearly what everybody thought.”

And even those sibling-style squabbles are a thing of the past.

“You get to a certain point where you realize that it’s so much easier… just to stay close, and to get each other’s backs,” said Levine.

He was then asked about the criticism that’s been thrown at Aguilera regarding her body.

Levine said flatly, “People shouldn’t say those kinds of things. Because, ‘F**k you.’ Come on, guys. Grow up.”

The singer declared that the worst part of celebrity culture is that “people feel like they can just say nasty things about other people.”

“[Aguilera] gets a lot of it, which pisses me off, and of course I have her back, of course I defend her,” said Levine. “I think it’s a really, really ugly part of our culture.”

He added, “It’s not cool, and I’ve never liked it… I think it’s horrible.”

It sounds like Levine’s brother-sister bond with Aguilera is more about support than sniping.

In a way Mr Levine is right but being critized comes with the territory of celebrity and always has look how the press has called attention to the weight Joanne Woodward has gained in the last few years. in her case it was triggered by age and grief after her beloved husband died of cancer

What is it with you and Joanne Woodward? I’ve seen more then one of your posts mentioning her. You mention her at the oddest times, this story has nothing to do with her. Your a little obsessed I think.

  • tell me another

Weight should never define who a person is.

    Agreed!

Being criticised is one thing, being accused of beating your child, having everything you say twisted around to make it look like your bashing and being raked over the coals for every little thing you do is going way over the line.

I don’t like Christina’s attitude lately but I think this has a lot to do with it. You can just tell that her body shape requires some curves. When she came out in the late 90s, the celebs were rail thin so she HAD to look the way she did. But she more than proved her talent.

Now that she’s older (and has had a kid), people still expect to see the Christina from the Genie video. I think she needs to just put out good music and let people judge her on her talent. But she needs to lose the eff you attitude.

I seem to remember a bitter feud between her and Kelly Osbourne, where loads of nasty insults were traded publicly. If you want to dish that sort of shit out, learn to take it!

It would be nice if people didn’t have to resort to words about sexual activities or body functions to insult one another. It’s so anal.

It’s funny because what you said was something she said about Kelly lol. The difference is that Christina was 21/22 and while she was growing up, she did have that attitude and so did Kelly, who initially started the feud. But since that time (in her Stripped era), Christina refuses to take part in any big feuds because she’s grown up and doesn’t need the drama. Kelly Osbourne still talks about her and others for some unknown reason, even though she hasn’t said anything about Kelly in years.

Also, it’s not that she’s not taking it. She was speaking at an event about television and media and it came with the topic. And what she says is true. Having reports saying you beat your son is not something most people can take.

22 is an adult, people in glass houses shouldn’t throw stones. If you don’t like the industry and the nature of the media, then there are plenty of other professions.
