Adam Lambert: Too Hot for TV?

Whether you watched it live or caught clips on the news this morning, Adam Lambert‘s provocative performance at last night’s American Music Awards is the talk of the country.

The singer’s sexually-charged performance of his debut album For Your Entertainment‘s title track widened eyes and set tongues wagging with its frequent hip thrusts, leash-led dancers, simulated sex acts, and one not-so-simulated kiss between Lambert and a male keyboard player. Lambert also flashed his middle finger in a gesture edited out by ABC for the West Coast.

Gossip Cop is curious to know what you thought. Was it too sensational or just great entertainment?

I thought it was hysterical. If it had been any female popstar *cough* britney spears *cough* no one would have thought anything of it. He’s a gay glamrock shockrock artist. Get over it.

    I… feel… confused… : /

I mean… true that if it’d been other pop artist (ie, female pop-artist) there wouldn’t be all of this commotion… I mean, GaGa, Madonna, Rihanna, Britney Spears… they have kissed, have danced like that, have rubbed their *****… and all of that … So, I think it’s kind of socially unaccepted if a male does it, but if a woman does it, then it’s called “sexy, provocative, and in-the-business-thing”…
The middle finger gesture is also a tricky point… yes, edited from here, but when it comes to some other artists (and I’m not giving names), probably just pixel·ing the hand is enough…? How come this one is different?
But even so, I think that was probably too much… I mean, it’s kind of odd… tho, considering the broadcast hour, maybe not… I’m confused, really, as I’ve said…

Probably if someone says anything against his way of performing, the “anti-gay” thing will come up…
Probably if someone says anything pro his way of performing, the “pro-XXX” thing will come up…
    So, I think it’s a loop…
And it’s been a loop with previous artist doing “different” things… tho, not to this level… imho…
Either way, THAT is a show!

    Thanks GC! :D *thumbs up*

I loved the performance. I was singing along with him.

I think it was too much for broadcast tv.

RumerMills.com makes a good point, hope this doesn’t destroy Adam’s carreer the way the “I Want to Break Free” video did for Queen.

Personally I loved the performance thought it was incredible but agree it was a little inappropriate for the audience.

The reason Adam is being brought up, is because GMA had just canceled Adam for being afraid his performance would be too sexual but then announces it’s okay for a woman beater like Chris Brown to perform. ugg bailey button black UGG Classic Cardy Boots

HIs performance was brilliant. People…..come on. Get over it!!! It was a guy doing the same thing female artists have done for years. It was a brilliant move on all levels. Mostly, because we are still talking about it!!
