Adam Driver Talks ‘Star Wars’ In “SNL” Monologue – WATCH VIDEO
Adam Driver opened his “SNL” monologue by saying he’s in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, and how the movies have a devoted fan base. And with that, cast members came out dressed like characters from the film, and asked him plot questions. See the video below of Driver’s “Saturday Night Live” monologue.
This is the first time Driver has hosted “Saturday Night Live.” The actor, of course, is appearing on “SNL” as his movie Star Wars: The Force Awakens continues to break box office records. In the movie, Driver plays the villain Kylo Ren, who is the son of Han Solo and Princess Leia, and the grandson of Darth Vader.
Driver, of course, is also known for playing Lena Dunham’s sometimes unhinged boyfriend Adam Sackler on the HBO series “Girls.” Before hitting it big as an actor, Driver had joined the U.S. Marines Corp in response to the September 11 attacks. After being injured, unrelated to his service, he then attended the prestigious Juilliard School in New York. Now, he has a nonprofit that performs shows for those in the military called Arts in the Armed Forces.
Chances are Driver won’t watch his sketches on “SNL.” As Gossip Cop recently reported, the actor told Howard Stern on his radio show that he doesn’t like seeing himself in any of his TV shows or movies, noting that he watched the pilot of “Girls” and was annoyed at what he considered “all the mistakes” with his acting. He made an exception, however, for The Force Awakens, which he saw in a small screening room, though admitted on Stern’s show that he was critical again of his performance.
