Aaron Gibson “The Voice” Audition Video: Watch “Losing My Religion” Performance!
Aaron Gibson had three coaches fighting over him on Tuesday’s “The Voice.” Watch below!
The contestant recently quit his full-time job to pursue music professionally, adding to the pressure of his Blind Audition. But he had the support of his parents, and eventually, most of the coaches. The panel at first listened intensely to Gibson’s stripped-down version of R.E.M.’s “Losing My Religion.”
And about a minute in, Blake Shelton and Miley Cyrus hit their buttons simultaneously. Not even a second later, Alicia Keys followed suit. It was Adam Levine who chose not to turn around, even with Cyrus out of her seat and swaying next to him.
“I’m jealous of your voice,” Levine admitted afterward. But he wasn’t in the running, and Shelton instead pitched, “I’ve been doing this a long time, man. I’ve got a good track record. I’d be proud to have you on my team.”
Keys noted of Gibson’s chosen track, “It’s one of my favorite songs, and I felt that you totally made it yours.” She added, “We could really come together and create some masterful pieces of music.” Cyrus, meanwhile, called herself a “fan,” adding, “You’re someone I want to listen to in my car.”
Shelton, however, interrupted with a mega phone, attempting to distract from Cyrus’ pleas. It was a wasted effort, though. Gibson chose to join Team Miley! Check out the video below!
