Aaron Gibson, Josh Halverson “The Voice” Video: Watch Knockout Round Steal!
Aaron Gibson and Josh Halverson‘s Knockout on Monday’s “The Voice” led to the last steal of season 11. Check out the video below!
As Gossip Cop has reported, Gibson has stood out since his Blind Audition, when he played a stripped-down rendition of “Losing My Religion.” For the second round of the competition, coach Miley Cyrus pit Gibson against Sa’Rayah for a Battle with “I’ll Take Care Of You.” Gibson won the face-off, while Sa’Rayah was stolen by Alicia Keys.
In contrast, Halverson started out on Team Alicia, where he did a Battle duet with Kylie Rothfield. When Keys chose to keep Rothfield on her team, that freed Halverson up for the steal. Cyrus went for it by hitting the button with her tongue.
Now Gibson and Halverson had to compete against each other in the Knockouts. Gibson chose to perform Thomas Rhett’s “Die A Happy Man,” and was told by key advisers Tim McGraw and Faith Hill to add some “happiness” and vocal changes to his rendition. Meanwhile, Halverson elected to sing “Whiskey And You,” written by Chris Stapleton and first recorded by McGraw himself. In rehearsal, McGraw encouraged Halverson to “fall back” on his emotions.
Halverson ended up receiving a standing ovation from Cyrus after his official performance, and she briefly stood for Gibson as well. The panel was blown away by both contestants, and Keys even said she was “buggin'” over Cyrus having to choose between them. Ultimately, she named Gibson the winner.
And then something amazing happened: Keys stole back her former artist! Watch below!
