VIDEO: Last-Known Surviving Ground Zero Search Dog Returns For 9/11 Anniversary
Bretagne, the last-known surviving search dog at Ground Zero following the September 11 attacks, returned to the New York site this week for the first time in 13 years to mark the anniversary of the event.
Now 15 years old, the golden retriever accompanied owner Denise Corliss from Texas to Manhattan back in 2001 to help in the desperate search for survivors after the World Trade Center was destroyed.
On Thursday’s “Today Show,” Corliss spoke with Tom Brokaw about their experience in those horrifying days after attack — and how Bretagne continues to help people to this day.
