21 Jump Street Leaps to Top of Box Office

BOX OFFICEChanning Tatum and Jonah Hill might have gone undercover, but they’re leaping over the rest of the box office pack.
21 Jump Street, in which the duo star as cops posing as high schoolers, won the weekend box office with $35 million in ticket sales, placing it ahead of previous champ The Lorax, which took second place with $22.8 million.
Coming in third was John Carter with $13.5 million.
Project X and Eddie Murphy’s redemption comedy A Thousand Words secured fourth and fifth places with $4 million and $3.8 million, respectively.
Rounding out the Top 10 were Act of Valor ($3.7 million), Safe House ($2.8 million), Journey 2 ($2.5 million), Casa De Mi Padre ($2.2 million), and This Means War ($2.1 million).
