AMOUR is the best film by a long shot!

  • rocknmovie

    Argo!

Les Miserables is literally the best movie I have ever seen. If it doesn’t win, something is wrong with the Academy.

  • ASP

Ever since I saw Les Miserables I can’t stop thinking about it. It was one of the most beautifully amazing movies I have ever see. I’m pretty confident Anne Hathaway will win Best Supporting actress. In all honesty though, I think we all know Lincoln is most likely going to win most, if not all the awards it’s nominated for. Just another award for Daniel Day-Lewis to add to his very vast collection.

  • whattttttttt

    Silver linings playbook for sure!!!

  • Guest

agree….les miserables was too much singing it got annoying

I personally want Silver Linings Playbook to win. But I think the most deserving is Argo.

  • Toooten

Personally I think it’s overrated, but that’s just my opinion.
My favourite is Amour or Argo. :)

  • oscarnonbeliever

It should be: Django Unchained (too politically incorrect), Amour (too difficult to folllow by most Americans), Argo (too much to handle) and LIncoln, Obviously, they should be awarded in different categories though, but it will be most probably: Lincoln (nothing better than a good story about an American historical hero directed by Spielberg) and Zero Dark Thirty ( a totally crappy and cheesy movie – propaganda with a completely unexploited and wasted topic which tells the story of a glorious American moment) – something that dusty, old academy grandpas would love. For the sake of sheer decency, out of these two, I hope Lincoln will be the winner – a detailed, unbiased, solid movie with a spectacular performance from D.Day-Lewis. Unless, the grandpas will get insane again and decide on sth that nobody understands (as usual).

Then you should watch two older French versions of Les Miserables, to see how an adaptation of this book should be done properly. This musical should have never happened.

Lincoln for sure is the best! BEST PERFORMANCE EVER as Always from DDL. I used to identify himonly as Nathan in The last of Mohicans, but boy I saw his other films and my standards for acting performance changed. He is absolutely different in every each of them – none of the biggest actors can ever do that much. I am biased and its showing I know, but damn he is GOOD!

  • Dibbee

Not for me. I disliked it intensely because I wanted more dialogue and less singing. It was totally an opera! The songs were not songs except for a couple-they were just singing dialogue. I didn’t like Marius at all but I thought Anne Hathaway was terrific. I am sure I was comparing it to the last Les Mis with Claire Danes which I truly did love.

  • anakin

I’ve seen all the nominated films. No doubt they are good movies, deserve in any category get an award.
If I let go of my personal preferences I would choose between “Django Unchained” and “Amour”

  • merlot

I have 3 movies tied for first place on my best movies of 2013 and all are nominated…….Argo, Beasts of the Southern Wild and Django Unchained – while my heart belongs w/Beasts, Oscar is way too conservative to give the award to it or Django so that leaves me w/Argo which after the snub to Ben, I hope wins.
I’m not ruling out an upset however w/Life of Pi. Its getting a lot of good reviews and if Ang wins Director – I can see Oscar giving him best pic as well.
I didn’t and had no desire to see Lincoln of Silver Linings at the theatre – I’ll wait for DVD on both and watch them when reruns strat playing this summer!

  • GaPeach

I’ve seen all nine. All were GREAT except: Les Miz: They never should have sung live – especially Russell Crowe who sounded like a bear. Also – Beasts of the Southern Wild – which only got nominated (IMO) because of the little girl who was wonderful.

It’s hard to pick from the rest – all are really good. I personally loved Amour but I suspect it won’t win Best Pic but it will win Best Foreign Picture.

  • Juliet7771

I”m pretty sure Lincoln will win, but I would like to see Les Miserables take it

  • Annie

Argo for sure. The other movies were good, and Lincoln has great acting, but another historical film is slightly boring. Give me a good thriller any day. And then of course, there’s Ben Affleck!

  • Guest

anybody but spielburg…he is an asshole

  • Guest

Right no one sings when they are getting their butts kicked…lol…good one…les miz was too much singing…Silver Linings takes it all….

  • Guest

    Stupid..you did not mention the winner..Silver linings…

  • that says it

Watching Les Miserables…I like it too much singing but the story is so deep

  • Best Pic

    Argo… a big Yawn & so Over-rated.
Zero Dark Thirty, Life of Pi ….. both Great & get my vote.
