11:50 am, September 12th, 2012
The 2012 Kennedy Center Honors will celebrate David Letterman, Dustin Hoffman and Led Zeppelin.
They’ll be in good company, joining other new honorees including blues singer Buddy Guy and ballerina Natalia Makarova.
Led Zeppelin will be recognized as a band, along with members Robert Plant, Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones getting individual honors as well.
The 35th annual Honors gala will take place on December 2, with President Obama and the First Lady in attendance, although the honorees will receive their medals the day before at a dinner hosted by Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.
The gala itself will air on CBS on December 26.
Last year’s honorees included Meryl Streep and Neil Diamond.
